If you were to ask WWEs top brass the question is nothing sacred? they would laugh and answer no. Sometimes, WWE likes to use real-life events to further storylines or gain cheap heat. Three particular instances of this stand out more than others. First, WWE exploiting Eddie Guerreros death by having Randy Orton claim that Eddie was down therein Hell as a means of convincing Rey Mysterio to accept his challenge for his World Title spot at WrestleMania 22. Orton mocked Eddies legacy and accomplishments for weeks, just to get the audience to boo him. It was an unnecessary step that disrespected Eddies family and legacy more than it benefited Randy Orton. Hes a great heel and didnt need to resort to something so cheap and insulting to people whove lost loved ones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09Oel4tnpoo The second was WWE exploiting Jerry Lawlers on-air heart attack, by having Paul Bearer perform a fake heart attack segment on RAW. This didnt really do anything in the grand scheme of things; all it did was provide WWE with one segment geared towards making the audience boo CM Punk. Its not like he needed much to do that, but many people, especially those whove witnessed or experienced heart attacks, mustve certainly felt uncomfortable when one of the most terrifying, nerve-wracking and sudden illnesses was mocked on live TV. The third one occurred shortly after the second one, when WWE mocked Paul Bearers death. Proving once again that WWE thinks that death is something to be used to further storylines, they had CM Punk dump ashes over the Undertaker, juggle the urn, and alongside Paul Heyman, mock Paul Bearers legacy less than a month after he passed away. While Paul did get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, it was uncomfortable to once again watch WWE exploit death for ratings.
