10 Most Underrated Super Heavyweights In WWE History

8. Mabel

Fans often scoff when they think about Mabel, King Mabel, or Viscera, but the fact is the big man wasn't as bad as some may have you believe.

As is the case many times, super heavyweights aren't often booked very cleverly and are often rushed into high profile programs. King Mabel is an example of that as he was rushed into the main event during a time when WWE desperately needed heels.

Coming out of the fledgling Men On A Mission tag team, Mabel was not presented as anything special despite being nearly 500 lbs and standing 6'9" tall. From jump, he should've been pushed as a monster, but the rapping, smiling, bleach-blonde mohawked babyface gimmick did not resonate with the fans.

When Mabel finally turned heel and started a singles run, the idea that after years of tag team losses, Mabel was suddenly a force to be reckoned with came off flat.

Over Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, Mabel was chosen to be crowned the 1995 King Of The Ring. To follow up, Mabel main evented SummerSlam '95 against WWF Champion Diesel, before departing the company less than a year later.

In the years ahead, Mabel would return to WWE as Viscera, but never reached the heights he did as King Mabel in the mid-90s. Like everyone on this list, Mabel deserves more credit than he's given as the blame of his failed main event push falls on the rushed nature of his booking, not solely on Mabel himself.
