10 Most Underrated Wrestlers In The World Today
1. Roman Reigns
Like John Cena before him, Roman Reigns has been subjected to an obnoxious, Hogan-esque mega push that has made him immensely popular among younger fans, but despised by everyone else. This has distorted much of the audience's perception of him as a performer, leading to the assumption that he's a bad worker.
While Reigns isn't flawless, he's had too many great matches for this argument to hold weight. His singles run has brought outstanding bouts with AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, and countless others. 2017 has seen him engage in a tremendous series of brawls with Braun Strowman, a great match with Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble, and let's not forget how good he looked in Extreme Rules' five-man main event either.
A popular argument is that these matches succeeded in spite of Reigns, and their quality had more to do with his opposition's calibre. This would be fine if he'd only had a handful of good bouts, but he hasn't: he's had dozens, which is where the argument falls apart.
Yes, his character sucks, and yes, he's been handed more opportunities to succeed than anyone else on the roster, but we shouldn't let this cloud our opinion of him as a worker, and the sheer volume of unwarranted hatred he gets makes Roman Reigns the world's most underrated wrestler.
