Becky Lynch has been the best bell-to-bell version of herself since her 2021 return.

Becoming a big stage wrestler befitting of her "Big Time" nickname, Lynch advanced to in-ring general along the way and never was this clearer than during a 2023 with as many creative highs as lows.

Stories with Damage CTRL and Trish Stratus were protracted beyond anybody's reasonable requests, but Lynch came through in the clutch. When it came time for major matches and establishing payoffs to feuds that nobody really invested in, 'The Man' came around and simply forced them to matter. and goes into 2024 as one of the favourites to be WWE or World Champion again as a result.

Unafraid to do jobs along the way, her quality work and willingness to look at the lights in equal measures helped sprinkle valuable stardust on the likes of Zoey Stark, Tiffany Stratton, Xia Li and Lyra Valkyria. Bret Hart fought dentists, pirates and ageing monarchs in 1995, but excellently executed his way right back to the top of the card by being too good to be denied. Becky Lynch, facing similar potential hurdles, did exactly this.

And if WWE had a '95 'Hitman', it fell to AEW to find a '96 'Heartbreak Kid'...
