10 Most Undeserving Hell In A Cell Competitors In WWE History
10. Alberto Del Rio
2011 had the potential to be the catalyst for a new boom period for professional wrestling. CM Punk garnered mainstream attention for his "Pipebomb" promo, and his capture of the WWE Championship and subsequent departure from the company had fans salivating at the idea of a new Summer of Punk. It seemed like WWE couldn't mess it up... until they messed it up. The main event of SummerSlam 2011 was an overbooked mess that involved a count-out, an unseen rope break, Triple H, Kevin Nash and eventually, Alberto Del Rio cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase. The very simple story about CM Punk was hijacked and taken over. At Night of Champions, John Cena beat Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship, which set up the triple-threat match at Hell in a Cell. While the match is quite good, it never really felt like Del Rio's to have, and it definitely wasn't Del Rio's to win. What's odder is that it wasn't Del Rio's first Hell in a Cell match.
