10 Most Undeserving Winners Of Vacant Wrestling Titles

8. Triple H

Triple H Randy Orton No Mercy

Here we have another name with his own fair share of unmerited title wins, including this instance from during his infamous Reign of Terror.

Back in December of 2004, Triple H defended his World Heavyweight Championship in Triple Threat competition against Edge and Chris Benoit. The title was vacated in light of the match though, after an inconclusive ending had seen Edge submit at the very same moment that he’d pinned Benoit to the mat.

Both Benoit and Edge had viable claims to be the new World Champion, which is more than can be said for Triple H, who was busy recuperating at ringside having been taken out of the equation.

Really, the fairest means of determining a new champion would have been to have Edge and Benoit slug it out to decide the ultimate victor. Somehow though, the Game managed to worm his way into an Elimination Chamber bout at New Year’s Revolution 2005, which also included his Evolution crony Batista.

As you might have guessed, Batista did most of the heavy lifting, allowing Triple H to swoop in and escape with the championship in tow. Crafty? Yes. Deserving? Not so much.
