3. Haku

There is a fine line between fear and respect, one that Haku most probably rips apart in the blink of an eye. Whether you know him as Haku or you know him as Meng, you may well know some of the many stories of his toughness. If Andre the Giant fears you, the chances are the majority of boys in the back will give you as much time as you desire.

Haku is the type of individual that commands respect. If one was to show the big Tongan even the slightest disrespect, one would be looking to leave with their teeth. Jake Roberts famously said that if he had a gun and was sitting in a tank with one shell left and Haku just 300ft away, he would jump out the tank and shoot himself, rather than risk wounding Meng and angering the Tongan.

As such, Haku must go down in history as one of the most respected men to have stepped inside the squared circle.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
