10 Most Unwanted Records In WWE Royal Rumble History
9. Longest Total Time In The Rumble Without Winning
Chris Jericho: 3:55:59 (from 9 appearances)
While Backlund didn’t have the best of luck back at the 1993 Royal Rumble, at least his nearly-moment only lasted one night. For Chris Jericho, he’s been coming close for some sixteen years without ever managing to win the big one.
Twice he’s put in stints of more than 45 minutes, as well as a 39-minute spell in 2003 and another 37 minutes in 2009, while in 2012 he made it all the way to the final two before Sheamus eliminated him for the win.
Those lengthy stays, coupled with the fact that he’s now appeared in nine Royal Rumbles throughout his career, mean that Jericho has spent a total of three hours, 55 minutes, and 59 seconds in Rumble action without ever tasting victory.
Only one man in history has spent more cumulative minutes in the Rumble match. Triple H has managed to clock up 3:59:47 over the years, but crucially he has two victories to his name, saving him from contention for this record.
