10 Most Wildly Offensive Wrestler Names Ever

Needless to say none of these superstars got very far.

Wrestling names can be hard to come up with. The name should ideally sound tough or cool without being cheesy. It€™s a fine line to walk. Ideally, the name has to fit the person playing the character. However, even bad or bland wrestling names sometimes work. After all, Steve Austin shares the same name as the lead character from a campy 70's show, all-time great Buddy Rogers doesn€™t sound all that menacing, and The Rock is...well, a rock. While none of those ring names may sound that great upon hearing them for the first time, they€™re at least not offensive, and make you question the sanity of whoever came up with it. That€™s not always the case though. Professional wrestling is usually years behind the times when it comes to political correctness. Over the past 15 years alone, we€™ve had Billy and Chuck, Cryme Tyme, The Mexicools and a man named Big Dick Johnson. It was time for WWE to grow up. And they did...a little bit. But there€™s been decades worth of questionable, idiotic and downright offensive names over the years spanning major companies and territories that should have never made it out of of the early planning stages. Naming wrestlers after swear words, body parts and even hate groups were all bad, bad ideas. Who would have guessed? Time to take a look back at the ten most wildly offensive names in wrestling.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
