7. Changing The Questions Yet Again
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHn5XL0KT20 Like John Cena, Rowdy Roddy Piper was one of the greatest promo men living in his prime. Like Scott Steiner, Piper had amazing intensity on the stick, as well as perfect timing. Like Cena, Piper would sometimes rely too heavily on his natural skill on the mic and come to the table with nothing but hot air. Like Steiner, Pipers mouth would occasionally run faster than his brain. All of which leaves us with his notorious Cow Palace promo from 1985, in which he starts by claiming that cows have antlers, and leaves us with two impressions: one of his opponent, Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff, implying that he suffers from learning difficulties (not the smartest move when youre facing one of the legit hardest men in professional wrestling); and the other that he believes that Mean Gene Okerlund is Orndorffs father. You cant help but love Hot Rod in the 1980s he was the heels heel, a heat-seeking missile of a man but good God we have no idea what was going on here, other than that Mean Gene picked the right time to go for a comfort break.
