10 Most WTF Wrestling Moments Of 2021

5. ROH Releases Everybody

Ring Of Honor has been a cherished sanctuary for pure pro wrestling goodness since it launched almost 20 years ago back in 2002. Everyone from Eddie Guerrero and CM Punk to Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson has enjoyed mega-moments under ROH's watch - the company's library is literally rammed full of must-see wrestling matches.

2021 might've seen the death of Honor though.

ROH, like every other promotion, isn't immune the impact of COVID on business. On 27 October, the group announced that they were releasing every single performer from contract and going on hiatus until April 2022. "Until" suggests hope, but nothing is certain these days.

This was a real eye-opener to everyone else in the wrestling biz. Ring Of Honor's ownership history has always been topsy-turvy, but fans figured it'd be around in some format. It still might be. Might. That's the upsetting thing here; there's a chance that ROH's near-two decade long impact has lessened.

Fingers crossed they return with a bang.
