10 Movie Characters WWE Should Base New Gimmicks On
3. The Bride (Kill Bill)
We're finally reaching a point in professional wrestling where the women are being given distinct personalities and character traits to work with, rather than relying on slight variations in wardrobe or a moderately different take on the same "diva b*tch" persona to tell them apart. Even better, a handful of them are becoming legitimate badasses in the ring.
So now would be the time to rework one of the toughest female characters in recent cinema, Kill Bill's The Bride, into a wrestling gimmick.
The Bride was pure vengeance. She had a hit list with every names of every assassin who had attempted to kill her written on it, and nothing was going to stop her from murdering every last one of them using the most violent means necessary. And she'd be a perfect blueprint for repurposing one of the current female wrestlers without a distinctive character.
Switch out the attempted assassination with a successful beatdown by a heel group of women that cost her a shot at the Women's Championship, and switch out the actual murder for kayfabe cripplings and maimings, and the transformation from Beatrix Kiddo to The Bride could play out quite well for WWE audiences.
Of course, you probably couldn't let her wear the iconic yellow and black jumpsuit -- which was lifted from Bruce Lee's costume in Game of Death -- but surely a variation of it could work.
