10 Must-See Matches At NJPW Best Of The Super Jr 29
2. Block A: Clark Connors Vs SHO
On the 21st of May, these two hard-hitting submission specialists will face off in Aomori to gain two points in this year's Best of the Super Jr.. This match will hopefully be a barn burner of a bout and one that purists will really appreciate.
Clark Connors was trained by Lance Storm and Buddy Wayne before joining the first class of the new LA Dojo, being trained by Katsuyori Shibata. He has recently graduated from being a Young Lion after winning the Lion's Break Crown in 2020. This marks Connors's first BOSJ appearance to date.
This is SHO's second appearance on this list and his 5th appearance at BOSJ, he was trained at the New Japan Dojo. He is a former five-time IWGP Tag Team Champion but hasn't quite made it to the top of the mountain in singles competition in the junior division. Could this match and this year be his chance to finally capture the gold?
With SHO's MMA training coming to the forefront and Connors's ability to adapt while also hitting big power moves this is set to be a fantastic match.
