10 Must-See Shawn Michaels Royal Rumble Performances

7. 1994 - Royal Rumble Match

Pulling double duty at the 1994 event, Michaels was heavily involved in the undercard as well as putting in the longest and most entertaining shift in that year's Royal Rumble match.

First making a nuisance of himself and attacking Razor Ramon in his Intercontinental Title match against IRS, Michaels would return later to enter the thirty-man war, immediately playing a snivelling creep to stay onside of his friend Diesel, who had ripped through the competition in his own star-making moment earlier in the match.

Exhibiting his cowardice seconds later, Shawn would then promptly back off as the entire ring worked to eliminate Big Daddy Cool, before settling in to his near-thirty minute stint that saw him make the final four of the match for the first time in his career.

Forgotten due to the infamous Luger/Bret double elimination finish, Michaels was the standout star in that year's contest, entering in a spirited display in scraps with Bret Hart, Lex Luger, Greg Valentine and perennial rival Marty Jannetty.

Sailing over the top in a stereo elimination with Fatu to leave Luger and Bret as the rightful final two that year, Michaels highlighted his Rumble expertise and laid the groundwork for an even greater display just one year later.
