10 Must See Vader Matches

9. Final Four (WWF In Your House 13)

Just over a full year into his WWF run, Vader had lost some serious steam. He hadn't quite become the promotion's top heel, and he had settled into a groove of working forgettable matches (like an ambling brawl with The Undertaker at the 1997 Royal Rumble).

The next month would solve all his problems.

As part of an elimination-style Fatal-4-Way at In Your House 13, Vader joined Steve Austin, Bret Hart and 'Taker in tearing the house down. Another gruesome eye injury, caused by a steel chair being booted into his face, only heightened the drama. As Vader's head leaked blood, Jim Ross on commentary marvelled at his grit.

The match showed a side of Vader that started his slow burn towards a babyface turn, and it's of the most thrilling matches the WWF had ever presented on pay-per-view until that point. He didn't win the vacant WWF Title and wasn't involved in the finish, but this is nonetheless essential viewing.
