Some people just have a face wrestling fans would never tire of slapping. Despite immense popularity over the past decade or so, CM Punk is one of those people. He's really good at playing up to hate when he wants to, and he might need to do that over the coming stretch on AEW programming.

Being brutally honest, he's the natural heel in this backstage blood feud vs. The Elite. Kenny Omega, like it or not, is part of a group this promotion was named after, and he's come across as less of a whiner in the press about the whole thing anyway. So, in short, Punk has to start embracing the boos.

'Boo me all you want - you know I'm the best'. That sort of thing.

Toronto rained more jeers down on Punk at Forbidden Door, and that's likely gonna be his fate in every city not called Chicago. AEW should back down, not double down. They've got gold on their hands with Punk as the real elitist villain around these parts, put it that way.
