10 New Directions For AEW After Worlds End 2023

Was Worlds End a grand farewell for multiple AEW stars heading into 2024?

Everybody already knew going into Worlds End that the pay-per-view would mark Sting's final match in New York. The ex-WCW, TNA and WWE man has enjoyed a career renaissance in AEW without forcing him down fan throats, but Revolution 2024 draws near. That'll be the Stinger's last hurrah, but another question must be asked.

Is he the only one about to bid All Elite Wrestling a fond farewell?

Reports coming out of the company following Saturday's show suggest change could be a-coming for others on the roster too. A lot of that is admittedly guess work, but it's fascinating to imagine just how different Tony Khan's locker room could look heading into the new year.

Other directions here are more creative than behind-the-scenes. One wrestler in particular impressed countless folks before and during the excellent Continental Classic, and it's obvious he's heading for a crack at main event stardom sooner rather than later.

Then, there's the not so small matter of a brand new World Champion, and the fact Adam Cole was revealed as The Devil all along.

There's a lot going on in AEW as calendars ready to turn.

10. Toni Storm Getting A Worthy Feud

This is a real must.

Toni Storm struck gold when she created the 'Timeless' character. It's become one of the most cherished acts on AEW programming, and has even pretty much turned Toni babyface by default. Live crowds, including the one at Worlds End, can't get enough of what Storm is doing.

It's fair to say her rivalry with Riho was rubbish. Their match wasn't horrible, but it never measured up to other major title bouts on the card, and everyone knew that'd be the case going in. Surely it's time Tony Khan gave Storm something satisfying to sink her teeth into heading through January.

Mariah May could be a long-term foe, but it'll be a while before she's ready to vie for the AEW Women's Title. Kris Statlander has been teased by Toni herself, so it looks like that's where Khan fancies going next. Fingers crossed that leads to impressive TV and matches, 'cause Storm richly deserves the spotlight.
