10 New Directions For WWE After Elimination Chamber 2024

2. An Unlikely Singles Showdown

Rollins looked as stunned as anyone when Cody said he fancied tackling The Rock in a singles match. Few could've foreseen this kind of showdown coming, but WWE teased it heard by having Rhodes send out a challenge in Australia. That was not on prediction sheets for 2024.

Sounds like fun though.

It's surely nailed on that Triple H goes down the tag route first, but Cody vs. Rock has merit. It'd be easy to sell that over the summer months, or on a bumper international PLE once WrestleMania 40 is in the rearview mirror. Naturally, it all depends on how game Rock is for doing the J.O.B to Cody before he finishes The Bloodline story vs. Roman.

The fact this all sounds chaotic is a plus, to be fair. When was the last time WWE realistically had mega-matches aplenty flying around like this that everyone would be tripping over themselves to see? The big tag, Cody vs. Roman II, Rock vs. Roman and now Cody vs. Rock.

Bring them all on.
