10 New Directions For WWE After Seth Rollins' Return
9. A Crowded World Title Picture
At WWE Extreme Rules Roman Reigns may have successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles, but life as a targeted man is about to get a whole lot tougher for The Guy. WWE has been ridden with injuries to some of its biggest names over the last year or so, and coincidentally a number of these superstars are due to return any moment.
Rollins is just the latest in a long line of top tier guys to return. Bray Wyatt, John Cena and Randy Orton are due back any moment, and anyone expected them to slot nicely into the middle of the card is sorely mistaken. John Cena hasn't been World Champion since coming up short against Orton towards the end of 2013, and Orton has been strap-less since WrestleMania XXX. Title matches are in their future, whether we like it or not.
Bray Wyatt is surely due a world title shot at some point too. Despite being featured in high-profile feuds since arriving in WWE, Wyatt has never had a one-on-one bout for the richest prize in the game. Expect him to start developing a taste for gold sooner rather than later.
This gives us four top tier challengers to Roman Reigns and his title, without even mentioning Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Chris Jericho and others. The top of the WWE tree is getting pretty darn crowded.
