10 New Directions For WWE After SummerSlam 2018

1. Braun Strowman Cashing In On Roman Reigns

What Happened At SummerSlam: Braun Strowman squashed Kevin Owens in two minutes, then told Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns that he was going to cash in his MITB briefcase on the winner of their Universal Title match. He didn't get the chance. Reigns accidentally wiped him out with a dive and then Brock smashed him with a steel chair.

Where It's Going: A successful cash-in, at some point, is inescapable booking for WWE. They're not going to have a top monster like Braun fail, and he's not going to wait until the end of 2018 to claim his first Universal Title.

SummerSlam was just the start for Strowman. Roman Reigns may be the long-term project WWE want on top of the card on Raw, but Braun's popularity and status as the MITB holder demands that he's given a run with the belt before too long.

Barring any shock cash-in on Raw, don't expect a quick turnaround. This is more likely to be a protracted chase over the next few months, with Strowman holding the cards.
