6. GUNTHER Breaking WWE’s Record

Approx a month from now, GUNTHER will have bettered Honky Tonk Man's longstanding 454-day reign as Intercontinental main man. Admittedly, that has hurt some of his recent title defences this year, because it became obvious that WWE wanted to put the big Austrian atop that IC Title list ASAP.

This will be a big moment for GUNTHER, and he deserves it. He's put respect back on the belt's name, and has worked some of the most hard-hitting Intercontinental Title matches in the strap's rich history into the bargain. Now, he's a stone's thrown away from becoming the standalone record breaker.

There's no way he falters before day 455.

Again, that could make his next battle at Payback rather tricky for the writers. They're gonna have to work overtime to splice in some drama that convinces fans GUNTHER might lose before breaking Honky's record. That isn't going to be easy, but they have to try.
