10 New Directions For WWE After Survivor Series: WarGames 2023

CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and...'Stone Cold' Steve Austin for WWE?!

Survivor Series 2023 was yet another quiet night for pro wrestling.

Nothing much happened. Randy Orton launched his return to tip the balance for the good guys during one WarGames, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair got on the same page during the other, and CM Punk unthinkably returned as a last-minute surprise. Hell, even R-Truth muscled his way back into another WWE role.

Analysing where all of this goes next is exciting. Punk is far and away the headline news coming out of WWE's latest PLE. Triple H reportedly kept things under wraps until the last possible second in Chicago. Was Seth Rollins' fiery reaction a shoot? Probably not, but things sure look spicy heading into the final month of the year.

Punk was working AEW's Wembley Stadium show just three short months ago. Now, he's poised for at least a handful of money-spinning epics vs. Rollins, Roman Reigns and maybe even Steve Austin. No, don't laugh. Stranger things have happened in the last 18 months alone. Wrestling is wild.

Here's where 'The Game' takes things next. Strap yourselves in and grab some snacks, 'cause Raw and SmackDown will be a hoot in December and January.

10. Something Special For Rhea Ripley?

Being honest, Zoey Stark's challenge at Survivor Series was as secondary as you're gonna get. The match wasn't bad, but it just failed to capture the imaginations of fans going into the PLE. That's not really on Stark or Rhea Ripley - WWE badly needs to find something worthy for Rhea to do though.

Her title reign depends on it.

'Mami' has been more preoccupied with running Judgment Day than defending her gold since winning the then-SmackDown Women's Title back at WrestleMania 39. That strap has since turned into the Women's World Title, and yet it hasn't really been booked like a proper World Championship quite yet.

Christ knows what it'll be, but Ripley deserves a meaty program heading into 'Mania XL season. WWE can kick that off in earnest soon. In fact, that's a must, otherwise this title run will be remembered more for Dom Dom than dom-inating in-ring performances with the belt up for grabs.
