10 New Directions For WWE After The 2023 Draft

2. Drew McIntyre Going Heel

This would be seriously killer.

It feels like a lifetime ago now, but cast your minds back to when Drew McIntyre roared about being "the wake up call [WWE] needs" in 2018. He was a heel back then, and would be until starting his WWE Title quest in late-2019/early-2020. It was awesome, and it's the kind of character with untapped potential.

McIntyre has been babyface for over three years now, so it's time for a change. He'd be excellent as a sneering heel at the top of his game who believes the only way to reclaim World Titles is to get ultra-aggressive, and he'd be an ideal foil for the likes of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on the babyface side.

Drew's jump to Raw in the 2023 Draft caught this writer's eye, if only because it suggests reports of problems behind the scenes are a little premature. Sure, his WWE contract is running low, but that doesn't mean he won't return as a swaggering badass and become Raw's top villain.
