10 New Directions For WWE After WrestleMania 40's Press Conference

8. CM Punk Doing Commentary

There are rumours doing the rounds that WWE will slot CM Punk into a commentary role whilst he's rehabbing a triceps injury through WrestleMania season. On Thursday, he guested alongside Big E, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee on the hosting panel, and he did a damn fine job at it.

Punk is one of wrestling's best talkers. Everyone knows that, so it's no shocker he excelled when highlighting the show's biggest story beats. The way he needled Seth Rollins for standing around watching Cody Rhodes, The Rock and Roman Reigns was also subtly brilliant. That's something WWE can revisit later.

Seeing Punk call comms on Raw, SmackDown or NXT (particularly one of the top brands) would be a joy. It's something he's dabbled in before when injured, so this isn't uncharted terrain for the guy. If the 'Mania press conference was a trial run for more to come, then Punk smashed it out of the park.
