10 New SmackDown Matches Made Possible By WWE’s Superstar Shakeup

1. Samoa Joe Vs. AJ Styles

The exact same goes for two men who know one another very, very well.

Samoa Joe and AJ Styles worked against one another extensively in TNA. Watch their X-Division Title match from Turning Point 2005 or the three-way also involving Christopher Daniels at Unbreakable the same year for evidence of how smooth AJ and Joe are together.

Older, more experienced and with the might of WWE's machine behind them, both could feasibly construct a match of the year candidate on SmackDown or pay-per-view. They're good enough to have multiple matches that don't feel like the usual WWE repeats too.

It's an exciting time to be a WWE fan, specifically if you find SmackDown's two-hour format more palatable than Raw's often mind-numbing three-hour stretch. Matches like Joe vs. Styles and Joe vs. Nakamura are reasons to be happy about the blue brand's future.

Embrace it.
