10 Next Generation Wrestlers You Didn't Know About

2. Sin Cara/Místico/Myzteziz

Before joining the WWE and developing a reputation as a botchmonkey with a prima donna attitude, Luis Urive Alvirde was Mexico€™s biggest box office draw as a técnico for CMLL, the country€™s oldest and biggest promotion, under the name Místico. Now that he€™s returned to Mexico and signed with AAA, he wrestles under the tongue twisting sobriquet Myzteziz. From 2006 and for years afterwards, Místico would remain the biggest star in lucha libre €“ far bigger than his father Manuel Almanza, aka Dr. Karonte. Alvirde€™s brothers also work as luchadors, with nowhere near the success of the family€™s most famous export. His maternal uncle, CMLL ring announcer and ex-luchador Tony Salazar, works behind the scenes at CMLL booking the matches for their Sunday night shows in Mexico City. Now that he€™s returned to Mexico and away from his time with the US promotion that derailed his stellar reputation so comprehensively, wrestling fans are looking forward to seeing good things from Myzteziz in AAA. He€™s off to a good start, turning rudo on Rey Mysterio in defeat at Triplemania XXIII, and challenging him to a mask vs. mask match to continue the feud in landmark fashion in the near future.
