In the dying days of family-friendly mid-90s WWF, Steve Austin had the market cornered on coarse language, though the likes of Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels or Undertaker weren't adverse to dropping a hell or a damn here and there.

By 1997, to demonstrate the encompassing shift in "Attitude", saltier words became more of the order of the day, with other wrestlers allowed to swear seemingly as much as virulent Austin.

This was never more obvious than the second edition of Raw is War, when a frustrated Bret Hart let out a curse-filled monologue that would've made Quentin Tarantino blush.

Included in the tirade were a few instances of the Lord's name being taken in vain, and some cable-unfriendly S-words that Jim Ross had to hurriedly apologise for.
