10 NXT Superstars That Will Struggle On WWE's Main Roster
4. Shinsuke Nakamura - Not Great At WWE's Promo Style
NXT's newest star is only a couple weeks away from his debut match against Sami Zayn at NXT TakeOver: Dallas. It's quite possible that, however long that match takes, it'll be exactly how long it takes for Nakamura to show everyone why he is one of the most uniquely talented professional wrestlers in the world today. For as gifted as Nakamura is in nearly every respect, though, the one flaw in his considerable game is his mic work. His mannerisms and style do a tremendous job of relaying his character, but given the way that WWE do business he is eventually going to have to pick up a live microphone and cut some promos if he's going to be a star. The concern there isn't so much Nakamura's English as it is his lack of experience in cutting promos outside of the "Fighting Spirit" style of NJPW. Even then his traditional mic work has been decent at best. While this could be resolved by pairing Nakamura with Paul Heyman, if WWE wants to present him as a main event face then their managerial options are almost non-existent. Unless they are willing to make serious deviations from their previous presentation style, Nakamura's rise to the top will hit roadblocks every time there is a mic in his hands.
