10 Obscure WWE Tag Teams You Totally Don't Remember

9. Scotty 2 Hotty & Albert

Behold the wonders of the 'Hip Hop Hippo'.

WWE blatantly tried to recreate the success of Rikishi with that gimmick. They took Albert, a going-nowhere heel midcarder coming off an unwanted Intercontinental Title run, and stuck him next to Scotty 2 Hotty. The idea? Become Too Cool-lite, but put across the big man's fun-loving side as much as possible.

It wouldn't last. Fans just didn't take to Albert, and no amount of goofy dance routines could change that fact. Worse, Scotty seemed to be on a career downturn as well. He'd gone from being one of the most over acts in the company during a peak run in 2000 to...looking like someone clutching at straws next to a partner nobody cared about.

Creative persevered with the "Zoo Crew" until April 2002 when Albert attacked Scotty and turned heel again. This angle didn't even lead to anything, because Hotty vanished from TV to undergo neck surgery and Albert bounced around some more before being repackaged as A-Train.
