10 Observations From The Resurrection Of Jake The Snake Roberts
2. Back To Wrestling
The last twenty minutes of the documentary are a joy to watch and incredibly emotional to witness. When Jake's reached a point in his recovery where he's been able to control the addiction, he decides to come out of retirement and do some shows in order to leave the business on his own terms. One of his goals that he talks about throughout most of the 90 minutes is wanting to return to the WWE for a spot in a Royal Rumble match. While, that dream is ultimately unfulfilled, there's a superb scene where the accountability crib is filmed watching Old School RAW with Page making a special appearance and, unbeknownst to the house, at the end of the show Jake's music hits and he comes out to lay a snake over a fallen Dean Ambrose. As his music hit and the camera cut between the arena and Jake's friends at Dallas' house jumping up and down with joy, I couldn't help but get goosebumps and start to fill up with tears. You feel like you're with him in this battle as the movie progresses so getting to see his hard work pay off with a moment in the ring is a joy to see.
