Britt Baker's prefix and suffix afford her a life long beyond wrestling should the bumps get too brutal or the schedule get too stupid, but the extent to which her daytime gig was folded into her wrestling career so nearly backfired for AEW.

It was an understandable unique selling point to lean on, but the company went so hard with it that an obvious babyface trait became an irritating source of contention for an audience that didn't wish to be patronised by wrestling's most simplistic side.

The company appeared to find a sweet spot in 2020, but it was in fact the beginning of the end of almost all references to dentistry beyond her name and tron video. A cinematic clash in her office with Big Swole allowed her to use the semantic field for evil, but the match was so cartoonishly naff that it revealed the weakness of leaning on a job rather than some increasingly entertaining personality traits.

A future weapons brawl - her Lights Out epic with Thunder Rosa - required no such occupational fluff and nonsense,
