9. The Unholy Wedding Of Stephanie McMahon
WWE.comThought the last storyline was odd? Well it wasn't even the weirdest point in the whole Ministry of Darkness arc. Before fusing with the Corporation there was a time when their members kidnapped Stephanie McMahon and tried to marry her in the ring. No really. This wasn't just any wedding process though. It was a dark wedding. What did that mean exactly? It meant that we got to see some of the hammiest and oddest sports entertainment television ever crafted for an adult audience. Stephanie is carried out into the ring on a cross bearing Undertaker's symbol (yes, when we say cross we do mean like a crucifix in case you were wondering). She's then placed in the ring and guarded by members of the Ministry of Darkness as Undertaker stands over her feeling her face a bit, because all good villains feel their victims faces. Paul Bearer then announces that the two are to be wed in "unholy matrimony", horrifying Stephanie who gives an Oscar worthy performance for her portrayal of a reluctant bride to be. As Paul Bearer carries out the ceremony, various Corporation members try to stop the whole thing from going through but are shot down by the Ministry of Darkness members guarding the ring. Undertaker gets all the way to saying "I DO!" without any major stops until Stone Cold finally breaks through the Ministry members and stomps all kind of mud holes in them. A shame really because can you imagine if the marriage had been successful and they'd carried this storyline on? Would Stephanie have had to be kept on the crucifix the whole time in case she ran away? Would she have warmed to the Undertaker's charming ways over time? These are questions we'll now never know the answer to.
