Ed Farhat was the original Sheik. He was the true innovator of hardcore and was involved in brutally bloody matches long before ECW arrived on the scene.

His hardcore approach allowed him to continue working into his senior years and he was 72 at the time of his last match in Japan in 1998.

He was a true legend and a big box office draw as the hated foreign heel. So much so, that he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2007. He died in 2003 at the age of 78.
