Well, didn't this get uncomfortable quickly?
When Brie Bella went into her match with Stephanie McMahon, fans were certainly interested in the premise. After all, it was an off spawn of the incredible Daniel Bryan and Triple H feud of 2013-14. Anything Bryan related, the fans absolutely lapped up. It was also cool to see Brie take the spotlight for once since Nikki had always dominated the company's attention.
Nikki's heel turn on her twin was certainly something different, but it was a sign that the company wanted to try new things and shake up the then-Diva's division. Having two of its biggest stars of the time face off in a blood feud wasn't a terrible idea whatsoever.
When it was put into practice though, fans were quickly desperate for the old times. Shoddy promos and even shoddier wrestling were the only results.
The storyline came to a complete halt when Nikki told her twin that she wished she had "died in the womb!" Then Jerry Springer got involved and the whole thing just became one big mess.
It is a good thing that the company realised their mistakes and reunited the pair under their much more effective heel duo gimmick
