Put simply, Kota Ibushi looks like he belongs in a boyband. You would struggle to find a cuter professional wrestler in the world, but what Ibushi can do in the ring is staggering. He started 2015 with a true MOTYC against Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestle Kingdom 9 (a match which included the finest German Suplex I've ever seen) and followed that up by winning the New Japan Cup and challenging then-champion AJ Styles at Invasion Attack. Nothing much came after that event however, and after a disappointing G-1 Climax Ibushi revealed that he would be sidelined for the foreseeable future due to a cervical disc herniation. He is yet to return to the ring, and things have been worryingly quiet on the Ibushi front. Still, Kota Ibushi is one of the finest professional wrestlers in the world. There is often the adage that a great wrestler could have a good match with anyone. Kota Ibushi once had a legitimate 5* match against a blow up doll. Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
