10 Outrageous Attitude Moments You Won't Believe WWE Got Away With

2. Goldust Wears Blackface

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sTBzhhuDgw And now for something that€™s just plain offensive. During Goldust€™s time as €œThe Artist Formerly Known As Goldust,€ he came out wearing all kinds of strange and bizarre outfits that often imitated the other professional wrestlers, but one outfit he wore in particular during a match against Flash Funk stood out for all the wrong reasons. He was trying to impersonate Flash€™s more €œFunky€ side with a fur coat and afro, but things escalated quickly when it became clear he was wearing blackface. Smart move there attempting to impersonate a black man, with a soundtrack resembling the Shaft theme tune. Now nobody is claiming that Goldust is racist, and of course he was just doing his job as an impersonator, but did nobody raise an eyebrow at the idea of having anyone wear blackface on live television? What was the production meeting behind that idea like? Vince might have gotten a chuckle out of it, but there must have been a lot of people who were offended by what they saw. Thankfully WWE has refrained from resorting to these kind of jokes.
