Match: The Rock vs. Steve Austin (WrestleMania XIX)

This might come across as a bit of a strange one to some, not least because The Rock vs. Steve Austin III (at least in terms of epic 'Mania showdowns) had countless near falls that'd fit on this list. Being honest, this writer was totally fooled by the first stolen Rock Bottom delivered by Austin.

It came completely from left field and followed an extended brawling sequence; Rocky, the heel, was also taunting Austin hard right before slipping on the proverbial banana peel. Yes, this guy is happy to admit that he thought 'Stone Cold' was taking the win right then and there.

It didn't matter that the match would've been rather short had it happened.

The Rock kicked out, hit a Stunner as revenge and then the pair slowed things down for a minute before going to the closing stretch. Three Rock Bottoms of his own later and ol' Dwayne Johnson finally had his elusive WrestleMania win over Austin.
