10 Outsiders To Win WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Match
5. Finn Balor
Three years ago would have been the ideal time for Finn Balor to win the Royal Rumble match coming off his untimely injury and chase the Universal Championship he never lost. That doesn't mean it wouldn't make for an equally awesome moment if it happened this year, though.
After floundering for the better part of 2019, Balor took a much-needed sabbatical from WWE TV following SummerSlam and resurfaced in shocking fashion in NXT less than two months later. He's experienced a career resurgence of sorts in the three months he's been back on the brand as a heel with wins over Matt Riddle, Tommaso Ciampa and Keith Lee.
Although he's currently in the midst of a rivalry with Johnny Gargano, that doesn't necessarily mean he's out of the running to win the Royal Rumble. In fact, NXT may very well prove to be a detour for him before he returns in the Rumble and wins it in order to earn his rematch with The Fiend, this time for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania.
Granted, it'd be strange seeing Balor go back to being a babyface after the awesome run he's had a heel as of late, but the sight of The Fiend facing off with The Demon on the grandest stage of them all would truly be something to behold.
