WWE.comWhen your name is Mr. America you automatically qualify for a list like this even though he was a short lived character that wore a mask. He started following WrestleMania 19 in 2003 after Mr. McMahon lost to Hulk Hogan and became a regular on the Smackdown brand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNavOLpxHek It was only fitting that the character had the "Real American" theme song too. It fit him better than anybody. Mr. America didn't have a long run in WWE. Even though he received a huge pop from the moment he debuted on Smackdown, it was obvious that the character didn't have a lot of depth and he wound up fading away within a few months. Of course the character was played by Hulk Hogan, but this was just WWE's cheesy way of putting him under a mask as a way to piss off Vince McMahon.
