10 Pay-Per-View Concepts WWE Needs To Bring Back

7. BattleBowl

Another WCW idea, BattleBowl was a one-night tournament with a twist. 32 men competed, with the first round consisting of randomly drawn tag teams fighting each other, and both members of the winning team going through to a show-closing 16-man battle royal. It was quirky and ridiculous, but where else could you see the team of Rick Rude and Henry Godwinn teaming against Buff Bagwell and Phineas Godwinn on pay-per-view!?

For WWE, BattleBowl could add a much-needed freshness to a very stale and formulaic pay-per-view calendar. The random tag pairings could lead to the formation of long-term units, or at the very least create some unseen match-ups rather than relying on the same programmes for two or three major shows running.
