During his infamous 2011 pipebomb, CM Punk took a couple swipes at The Great One, saying that €œDwayne€ was the best a**-kisser in WWE and blasting him for landing the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII a year out despite not performing for eight years. He would fire off insults at the Rock periodically, but it wasn€™t the first time they verbally crossed paths €“ The Rock renamed him €œBM Punk€ back in 2009 while celebrating Smackdown€™s 10th anniversary. Punk hasn€™t hesitated to continually criticize Rock for coming back on a part-time basis and getting prime PPV spots. More recently, when talking about his respect for Batista coming back fulltime, he compared The Animal€™s return to Rocky€™s numerous spot appearances garnering WrestleMania main events. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YxQ_b_VHyk To his credit, Rock has brushed off questions of whether there€™s heat between the two superstars, but you have to wonder if Rock, whose lifeblood is in pro wrestling, resented hearing his career and success being verbally decimated. No matter how much you prep for being bashed in the ring, when it takes more of a personal tone, there€™s a fine line between a really good, reality-based promo and just firing off potshots at a guy. We might not know for sure if that line was crossed, but if anyone is going to be near-nuclear with Punk, it€™s The Rock.
