10 People Who Had No Business In Professional Wrestling

1. Chris Von Erich

The legendary Von Erich family produced some great talent. There was the patriarch Fritz Von Erich, who was one of the best heels of the 1960s. Then there were his children, the athletic and immensely popular Kerry, Kevin, Mike and David. They were all charismatic, and born to be in the business. Then there was the youngest of the group, Chris.

Understandably, Chris wanted to be a wrestler. It would have been weird if he wanted nothing to do with the business. You can only imagine the large expectations set upon him to join up with his brothers and continue on with the tradition they had started. There was only a couple of problems: he had asthma, and easily breakable bones. So not one, but two things that should immediately disqualify you from being a wrestler for a profession.

It€™s a shame that he ever had the aspirations to be a wrestler in the first place, as his dreams of making it in the business were simply impossible. There was no way to work around someone who could get hurt so easily. Sadly, after the deaths of two of his brothers (and later a third) and the depression caused from not being able to wrestle, Chris took his own life at the age of 21.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
