10 PG Wrestling Feuds That Felt Like The Attitude Era
3. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
After coming close to ending the career of Shawn Michaels on an episode of Raw in June, Chris Jericho was determined to expose Michaels as the coward he believed he was. Most of their "matches" from that point forward weren't truly matches; they were brutal, bloody fights. Yes, even after WWE went PG, the two heated rivals were able to incorporate blood into their feud when Jericho busted him open during their brawl at The Great American Bash pay-per-view. To say it added to the match would be an understatement. Blood? Wives getting punched? Uncomfortable beatdowns? That isn't the epitome of the PG Era at all. Not only would it have been at home in the Attitude Era, but it was a stellar story that would have flourished in any other time period in wrestling history. The entire idea behind the HBK-Y2J feud was something we haven't seen for close to 15 years: the heel going over in the end. Michaels gave Jericho his comeuppance, but in the end, what did he really win? The Rock-Mankind rivalry, for example, kept you coming back every Monday night. Michaels and Jericho were able to capture that same magic that hasn't been replicated since.
