Back to NXT TakeOver now and to one of the most heartwarming moments in the brand's history.

After making his first appearance for NXT back in 2015, Johnny Wrestling/TakeOver/Nickname/Gargano finally became NXT Champion after beating Adam Cole in a two-out-of-three falls match.

This victory is the culmination of an incredible story. Gargano is easily one of the most beloved wrestlers in NXT's history and has been through so much in his career, both in storyline and in real life. Whilst it may not have come against his long-time nemesis, Tommaso Ciampa, this was still a great moment.

It was also a history-making moment.

With this title victory, Gargano became the first ever NXT Triple Crown Champion. He won the NXT Tag Team Championships with Ciampa back in 2016 and captured the NXT North American Championship earlier this year. This makes Gargano the first wrestler to have won all three of NXT's male championships.

Equally, Adam Cole would have become a Triple Crown winner if he had won; he was the first NXT North American Champion and held the tag titles under the freebird rules with The Undisputed Era.
