10 Pointless Acts Of Wrestling Bravery That Were Totally Forgotten

Trish Stratus Thrown From Stage
WWE

As Mickie James has been espousing in her embittered return promos, the recent WWE women's revolution would be nothing without those that suffered in far more trying times.

And suffer Trish Stratus did, as she desperately attempted to attach a shred of credibility to yet another exploitative and condescending women's segment on an August 2002 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Given the 'Bra and Panties Mud Match' as her task for the evening alongside Stacy Keibler, Stratus has since gone on record to claim the enormous bump from the top of the stage into a shallow paddling pool was all her idea in a quest to at least make the segment memorable for more than just the painfully obvious.

It's actions such as this that place Trish in an upper echelon of female performers, even amongst a 2017 crop more talented than any prior generation to be featured by the company.

However, despite the spectacle of the dive (and a brief inclusion into the Monday Night Raw credits), the stunt was predictably forgotten within minutes, such was the disposable nature of the 'Divas' content.
