5. Pull-Apart Brawl With Sami Zayn

Of course, it hasn’t all gone Samoa Joe’s way since making the step up to the big time. After weeks of wreaking havoc and doing pretty much as he pleased, this past week saw Joe’s rampage grind to a halt when Sami Zayn sought some payback.

Distracted during a post-match interview on-stage, Joe was then jumped by Zayn in a complete role reversal of Joe’s attack a couple of weeks earlier. The customary pull-apart brawl then ensued, before Zayn pulled out an awesome dive from the top of the stage onto the big man on the concrete below.

As well as being a great segment in itself, this was also the ideal way to put Zayn over as a credible threat to Joe heading into their match at Fastlane. It was vital that Zayn got one up on the Samoan, partly because the latter had previously been so dominant, and partly because Zayn has looked like a bit of a loser in recent weeks and months.

Much like the turnbuckle spot in the Strowman vs. Reigns feud, this was a great way to tie up the build to Zayn vs. Joe, leaving things perfectly poised ahead of Fastlane.
