If the 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 elimination matches have been the most frequent match type in Survivor Series History, outside of the standard singles match, the multi-man championship match, including the triple threat, isn't far behind.

Beginning in 1999 and again in 2002, 2009, and 2012, WWE closed the November Pay-Per-View with a world championship match that featured 3 or more participants. Whether it was Triple H, Rock, and Big Show, or John Cena, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels, or even CM Punk, Cena, and Ryback, the promotion has a tendency to feature multiple number one contenders by the time Survivor Series rolls around.

In 2016, that may be the case again.

With Seth Rollins currently positioned as RAW's top babyface, he's likely to remain in the championship picture for the foreseeable future. Roman Reigns, despite the massive rejection from audiences all over the world, held that spot previously and is likely to be positioned there again eventually.

While another WrestleMania coronation has been rumoured to be penciled-in for Roman Reigns (marking what would be the 3rd year in a row that such plans were made), a quick pit-stop in the main event of Survivor Series against Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens for the Universal title could prepare the fans for what's to come.
