10 Precise Moments When WCW Careers Ended

Even that 'Hogan is walking' moment wasn't as low-key as this.

Chris Jericho was fed up of WCW life by mid-1999. He officially signed with the WWF on 30 June and worked his final match for WCW on a 21 July house show. Before that, Jericho's final TV match fell on the 5 April edition of Nitro - he lost to Booker T on that card.

Bosses blatantly didn't really know what to do with the future 'Y2J' before he left. So, for some reason, they stuck him on commentary for the short-lived WCW.com online broadcasts during pay-per-views. At Great American Bash, Jericho could be seen doing comms during Sting's match with Rick Steiner.

Tony Schiavone did mention his name, but the whole gig was incredibly understated. Hey, at least Jericho got to work out the kinks before doing some colour commentary on AEW Rampage 20+ years later. Silver lining, and all that.
