By all accounts, AJ Lee's final year or so was a tough gig.

She'd watched her husband tell WWE to f*ck right off (more on him later), and then had to soldier on despite probably getting some annoyed glances from higher-ups because of who she was married to. By 2015, it was all too much, and AJ fancied leaving wrestling behind.

Her final showing on WWE TV? Laughing on the turnbuckles as Naomi did a goofy little dance and Paige glanced over her shoulder - together, the trio had just toppled Natalya and The Bella Twins in a fun six-woman tag on the post-WrestleMania 31 episode of Raw.

WWE announced Lee's retirement from the ring on 3 April, meaning this six-woman showdown was the last time fans clapped eyes on her. Thankfully, AJ has seemed happier since quitting wrestling, and has even inspired others to use mental health worries as ammunition against the world.

She's an inspiration, basically.
