10 Predictions For WWE Payback After Extreme Rules
4. The Lucha Dragons Make Their PPV Debut
The tag scene has a spark of life to it again, and the WWE would be wise to fan the flames. Demonstrating once again how Creative are totally undeserving of the good fortune they keep having, hollow stable the New Day have become something of overnight smash hit as heels. Wise-ass fans in Chicago took with glee to the anti-New Day chants, which the WWE have run with rather than ignored, turning a less-than-nothing babyface team into (somehow) the company's new hottest heels. Noisy, insincere and obnoxiously cheerful, The New Day are utterly infuriating and fans will clamour to see them drop the belts. Having their challengers being Cesaro and Kidd - legitimately great workers and walking symbols of Wrestlers Who Haven't Received The Push They Deserve - doesn't hurt the angle either. But the WWE should go one step further. The New Day had to cheat to overcome the Lucha Dragons and earn their title shot at Cesaro and Kidd. The company should use that to motivate the two high-flying Latinos into inserting themselves into this feud, resulting in either a one-on-one bout for the belts after Kiddsaro fail in their rematch on Smackdown, or (preferably) a three-way tag battle for the gold. The Luchas had a great debut and the WWE would be wasting an opportunity if it kept them on the bench for two straight PPVs.
